Sterehe MP Charles Kanyi, aka Jaguar was on Wednesday morning embarrassed after his constituents chased him out of a City Hall operation aimed at restoring public land and spaces at Country and Central Bus Stations.

Jaguar unsuccessfully attempted to stop the City Hall bulldozers from demolishing the illegal structures at Country Bus Station, but he was overpowered by hundreds of his constituents who charged at him forcing the first time MP to flee from the hostile Starehe constituents.

The Starehe Constituency residents later declared their support for Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s efforts to clean up the City. Sonko has embarked on a mission to reposes public spaces initially grabbed by crooks and politicians in order to pave way for expansion of bus terminals and highways.

Last month Jaguar was named by police among the leaders behind the attack on Nairobi’s Central Business District public toilets which are managed by City Hall.

Jaguar allegedly hired over 100 goons who invaded and attempted to forcefully take over the management of public toilets within CBD. Police managed to arrest 14 of the goons who were later arraigned in court, where they named Jaguar and Nairobi Central Ward MCA, Daniel Ngegi Muturi as their financiers.

Jaguar has been loggerheads with City Hall after he recently opposed the eviction of boda boda operators from the city’s Central Business District.

While dismissing the case last month, Justice Roselyne Aburili did not not mince her words over Jaguar theatrics whom she accused of using the boda boda operators as pawns in the political games.

“You must not pawn the riders for political gain. You must not create any legitimate expectations in the minds of the riders that they will not enforce after the election, she said.

Justice Aburili told Governor Sonko to enforce the law decisively if he intends to eradicate the rot in the city and restore it’s former glory.
